The Important Issues Facing Our Nation and Florida:

Our Mission

To educate and equip pastors in the state of Florida with a solid biblical worldview to enable them to educate and equip followers of Christ to express their biblical world view at the polls and in the public square for the preservation and establishment of Judeo-Christian values in Florida.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see Florida as a state held in high regard for electing Godly and moral officials. Reclaiming Florida for Christ will work towards this end by rallying Christian Pastors, Leaders and citizens with the help of local churches to create awareness of our patriotic duty and moral obligation to engage the culture and participate in the election process at all levels of government local, state, and national.

History

It’s been said “Necessity is the mother of invention.”

In 2011, Faith & Works was formed out of a perceived necessity that the State of Florida was losing the cultural war on morality in part due to the election of government officials who did not represent the conservative majority in the Sunshine State. Fast forward to today, Reclaiming Florida for Christ is the next generation organization with its core values established from the initial efforts of Faith & Works.

According to Pew Research Center on Religion and Public Life, the religious composition of adults in Florida is 70% Christian including a nearly equal mix of Protestants and Catholics. It is our belief that reforming Florida for Christ must begin with the church. Moreover, it is the pastors and business leaders in Florida who share the responsibility to uphold the moral standards as established in the Bible.

We believe this can be achieved by grassroots efforts by Pastors, Leaders, and people who subscribe to the purposes of organizations like Reclaiming Florida for Christ.

Churches, without limitation, can preach, teach and/or study any issue related to policy, politics and morality. Churches can also have unlimited voter registration drives; hand out voter guides contrasting issues; start a social issues committee; educate on viewpoints of candidates; have candidates appear at church services, and introduce candidates in church (as long as you give all candidates the same deference).

Pastors are called by God to preach God’s Word and to not sensor it and to avoid the controversial passages, as if there aren’t any.

When the pastor preaches the whole council of God, he will become a balanced preacher emphasizing everything that is important to God, and that includes having righteous rulers. The Scripture says: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn” (Prov. 29:2).
